Text: Romans 10:1, 13-17

1, Brethren, my heart's desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that they might be saved.

13, For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

14, How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?

15, And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!

16, But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Esaias saith, Lord, who hath believed our report?

17, So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

Introduction:

For a lost person “The One Thing” is to be saved.

John 3:7

Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.

For a saved person “The One Thing” is to PREACH (text verses 14-15)

    1.      What Really Matters

    a.       Three-hundred-million years from now what will be the only thing that matters?

The money you make, the car you drive, the house you live in, who won the super bowl, World Series, what school you went to, ect.

    b.      What will matter is who is in heaven and who is in hell.

Luke 19:10

10 For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.

    c.       What are you doing today that will matter Three-hundred-million years from now.

2 Corinthians 5:10

For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.

What do you think will matter on that day; money, car, house. 

It will matter whether you shared the most precious thing you have with everyone you could.

    d.      I have envisioned standing before the throne of God, and I believe certain thoughts are going to hit me: (Isaiah 6:1-5)

1. When I look at Jesus, I think it will occur to me that He is more real than I ever imagined.

2. I will be struck by how sinful and impure I am in front of Total Holiness.

3. It will amaze me how beautiful Heaven is.

4. But then I think it will really hit me that I’ll wish I would have shared Him a whole lot more than I ever did on earth.

    e.       A great multitude in heaven not enough

Revelation 4:6

And before the throne there was a sea of glass like unto crystal: and in the midst of the throne, and round about the throne, were four beasts full of eyes before and behind.

Revelation 7:9-10, 13-14

9, After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands;

10, And cried with a loud voice, saying, Salvation to our God which sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb.

13, And one of the elders answered, saying unto me, What are these which are arrayed in white robes? and whence came they?

14, And I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.

Isaiah 66:22-24

22, For as the new heavens and the new earth, which I will make, shall remain before me, saith the Lord, so shall your seed and your name remain.

23, And it shall come to pass, that from one new moon to another, and from one sabbath to another, shall all flesh come to worship before me, saith the Lord.

24, And they shall go forth, and look upon the carcases of the men that have transgressed against me: for their worm shall not die, neither shall their fire be quenched; and they shall be an abhorring unto all flesh.

    2.      Changing Our Mind Set

    a.       Changing one word GOT TO verse GET TO.

1. Got to go the church verses get to go to church

Hebrews 10:25

Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.

2. Got to pray verses get to pray

John 14:13-14

13, And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.

14, If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.

3. Got to read my bible verses get to read my bible (Basic Insertions Before Leaving Earth)

2 Timothy 2:15

Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

2 Timothy 3:16-17

16, All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

17, That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.

4. Got to tithe verses get to tithe

Malachi 3:10

Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the Lord of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.

5. Got to witness verses get to witness

Mark 16:15

And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.

By the way, when we die, it is not that we have “got” to go to heaven, but we “get” to go to heaven! And you get to bring as many people as you want to.

We must have this mind set!

    3.      Is There Not a Cause

1 Corinthians 3:6-9

6, I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase.

7, So then neither is he that planteth any thing, neither he that watereth; but God that giveth the increase.

8, Now he that planteth and he that watereth are one: and every man shall receive his own reward according to his own labour.

9, For we are labourers together with God: ye are God's husbandry, ye are God's building.

2 Corinthians 5:7-11

7, (For we walk by faith, not by sight:)

8,We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.

9, Wherefore we labour, that, whether present or absent, we may be accepted of him.

10, For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.

11, Knowing therefore the terror of the Lord, we persuade men; but we are made manifest unto God; and I trust also are made manifest in your consciences.

2 Corinthians 5:11

It is because of this solemn fear of the Lord, which is ever present in our minds, that we work so hard to win others. God knows our hearts, that they are pure in this matter, and I hope that, deep within, you really know it too.
