Text: Acts 4:12

12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

Introduction:

Some things come by the dozen. Others by the million!

1. A dozen eggs.

2. A bushel of apples.

3. A Million dollars.

4. A Million years.

As the saying goes “you seen one you have seen them all”

Some things come only by “one”.

1. One life.

2. One death.

3. One birthday.

4. One Mother.

5. One Dad.

Paul listed seven spiritual ones

Ephesians 4:4-6

4 There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling;

5 One Lord, one faith, one baptism,

6 One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.

So is it with Jesus, The One and only!

1.                  JESUS - THE ONE “MEDIATOR” BETWEEN A JUST AND HOLY GOD AND A GUILTY SINNER. 

                  a.       Jesus is the one MEDIATOR between us and God.

1 Timothy 2:5

For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;

                   b.      We, as guilty sinners can have peace with God THROUGH JESUS CHRIST!

Romans 5:1

Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:

                    c.     Jesus stands between us and God

 John 14:6

 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

 Job 9:33

 Neither is there any daysman betwixt us, that might lay his hand upon us both.

2.                  JESUS. THE ONE “NAME” WHEREBY ALL MUST BE SAVED! 

Acts 4:12

Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

a.       To this purpose He was named JESUS.

Matthew 1:21

And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.

                   b.       For this purpose God sent Him.

 John 3:17

 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be  saved.

 Luke 19:10

 For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.

 Luke 5:32

 I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.

3.                  JESUS, THE ONE AND “FULL” PAYMENT FOR OUR SINS.

Romans 6:23

For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

        a.        The “wages” of every sin must be PAID IN FULL!

 Hebrews 2:2-3

 2 For if the word spoken by angels was stedfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just recompence of reward;

 3 How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him;

                  b.      Isaiah tells us how it was paid!

       Isaiah 53:6

       All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the Lord hath laid on        him the iniquity of us all.

4.                  JESUS THE “ONE DOOR” TO SALVATION. 

      John 10:9

       I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.

                a.        What is the PURPOSE of a door?  (Entrance—Access—Admission)

                b.        Think WHAT is “on the INSIDE” of this door ... Jesus.

        1. Forgiveness and Cleansing. Eph.l:7; 1 John 1:7

        2. NEW and ETERNAL LIFE. 2 Cor.5:17; John 10:28

        3. PEACE and REST for the soul. Matt 1:28

        4. JOY OF SALVATION. Psalm 51:12

        5. SAFETY, SECURITY. John 10:28; 6:37

        6. Spiritual Nourishment for the Soul.

5.                  JESUS THE ONE ABLE TO SAVE AND KEEP! 

        Hebrews 7:25

        Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth         to make intercession for them.

        Jude 24

        Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of         his glory with exceeding joy,

        Psalms 37:23-24

        23 The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord: and he delighteth in his way.

        24 Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the Lord upholdeth him with his hand.

Acts 4:10

Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole.
