Title: He Thinketh Upon Me

Text: Psalms 40:1-2, 17

1, I waited patiently for the Lord; and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry.

2, He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings.

17, But I am poor and needy; yet the Lord thinketh upon me: thou art my help and my deliverer; make no tarrying, O my God.

Introduction:

I love this verse because, like David, I am poor and needy. Yet, the Lord "thinketh upon me!"

Oh, like you; so many have forgotten you and me. They said that they would never forget us. But after you're gone for a while, they not only forget you, but they never ever think about you.

Now, God is not that way! Remember, God was thinking about Job.

Job 1:8

And the Lord said unto Satan, Hast thou considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and escheweth evil?

Now, I want you, to think about me for the good, but I especially want Jesus Christ to think about me as I labor for Him.

John 17:20

Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word;

I learned this: Your friends will never think badly of you, and your enemies will never think good of you.

I want Him to be proud of me, and think upon me.

Here are some ways that I want Him to think about me:

    1.          I want Him to think on me as a WORKER

1 Corinthians 3:9

For we are labourers together with God: ye are God's husbandry, ye are God's building.

Matthew 9:37

Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few;

1 Corinthians 15:58

Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.

Galatians 6:9

9 And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.

    2.           I want Him to think on me as a WITNESS

Isaiah 43:10

Ye are my witnesses, saith the Lord, and my servant whom I have chosen: that ye may know and believe me, and understand that I am he: before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me.

Acts 1:8

But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

    3.           I want Him to think on me as a WORSHIPPER

John 4:24

God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.

    4.          I want Him to think on me as a Winner

Philippians 3:7-8

7 But what things were gain to me, those I counted loss for Christ.

8 Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ,

Philippians 3:14

14 I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

1 John 3:1

3 Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not.

I was a loser. But, in November, 1973, this loser became a winner, because I am on the winning side because of JESUS CHRIST.

    5.             Closing

Psalms 40:1-2

1 I waited patiently for the Lord; and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry.

2 He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings.
